- A Phillips screwdriver
- A ladder
- A small trash bag (to dispose of adhesive backing)
Is there any prep I should do before installing AppLights PERMANENT™?
Yes, do two things in advance for an ideal installation experience:
- Plug in each light string and connect to the app to confirm all lights and components are working properly.
- Plan your layout. Determine where you would like to install the first light, ensuring the control box and power adaptor have adequate length to reach your power source (outlet). If not, adjust accordingly or incorporate extension wire.
Is there a particular order to follow when assembling AppLights PERMANENT™?
Yes, start with the power adaptor, connect the control box, and then begin connecting light strings (and extension wires, as needed). On the last light string installed, make sure the waterproof endcap is firmly secured in place. See the QSG for detailed instructions.
Do I need to change any settings on my phone to use AppLights PERMANENT™?
In your phone’s settings, make sure Bluetooth® is turned on and your location permissions are enabled.

How do I know if my smartphone is compatible with AppLights PERMANENT™?
AppLights PERMANENT™ works with the following smart devices:
- Android: 5.0 or higher
- iPhone: 5s or higher series
- iPad: iPad (5 or higher series), iPad mini (2 or higher series), iPad Air (1 or higher series), iPad Pro
- iPod: iPod touch (6 or higher series)

Can I use AppLights PERMANENT™ without setting up an account in the app?
No, you must create an account in the AppLights PERMANENT™ app.
How do I pair my AppLights PERMANENT™ lights in the app?
Ensure the light strings are plugged in and blinking white. This means they are in pairing mode. From there, open your app and select the + sign in the top right corner. Follow the prompts.
What is the max number of lights that can be connected to one power adaptor?
Each power adaptor can power up to 100 lights.
How many power adaptors can be connected in the app?
The app can connect up to 100 power adaptors.
Can I use light strings indoors?
Yes, AppLights PERMANENT™ is designed for indoor and outdoor use.
Does AppLights PERMANENT™ include a timer?
Yes, the app includes a timer with start and stop functions.
Can I manually program AppLights PERMANENT™ or do I have to use the app?
AppLights PERMANENT™ requires the app. The app is the only way to enjoy the full range of advanced capabilities programmed into AppLights PERMANENT™.
How do I reset my lights?
There are two ways to reset your lights:
- Unplug your lights, wait three seconds, and then replug them. Repeat this twice, unplugging and replugging them three times in succession. Your lights should blink white to show they are in pairing mode.
- If you have previously paired lights, you may also go to the Lights page in app and select a light string. A pop up will appear to allow you to REMOVE LIGHT or REMOVE ALL LIGHTS. Once you make your selection, removed lights will no longer display as connected in the and your lights will blink white to show they are in pairing mode.
Why won’t my lights connect to the app?
First, make sure you have created an account in the app and are using the same device originally used to pair the lights. Next, make sure your phone has Bluetooth® turned on and you are within a 10-foot distance of the lights.
Why doesn’t the AppLights PERMANENT™ app show all of my lights successfully connected?
Depending on your device, there may be a delay of 2–3 minutes before the lights are fully synchronized in the app. If your lights don’t connect after a few minutes, try connecting again or resetting your lights.
How do I rename my lights in the app?
Go to the Lights tab in the app, tap to rename your string light, press SAVE.
How do I group my lights in the app?
Go to Lights section in app, Select Groups Tab, select Add Group, enter your group name, select the lights you want in the group, and press SAVE.
How do I recover my password?
Go to the app’s Sign In page, press Forgot Password then follow the prompts.
How do I change my password?
Log in to your account, go to Help in the blue bar menu and follow this path to generate a reset email: More > Account> Change Password. Please follow instructions sent in an email.
How do I delete my app account?
Log in to your account, go to Help in the blue bar menu and follow this path: More > Account > Delete Account
